Call of Duty: Vanguard is the newest entry to the Call of Duty game series released on November 5, 2021. Like many other games in the franchise, Vanguard features a campaign mode and multiple reminiscent to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. While many fans are eager to jump right into multiplayer action with friends, some may be wondering whether you can play with those on other platforms. Can someone that is on a PC play with their Xbox or PlayStation friends? This guide will let you know if Call of Duty: Vanguard supports cross-platform play.
Does Call of Duty: Vanguard Support Cross-Platform Play?
The short and most straightforward answer is yes. Call of Duty: Vanguard does support cross-platform play. Like previous games in the series, Vanguard’s multiplayer mode is cross-platform compatible and allows players to team up with anyone regardless of the console they are playing on. This also means that Vanguard is compatible with older consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that you or your friends can play on. However, there is also a feature to disable crossplay. Navigate to your settings in the multiplayer menu and select “Account and Network”. You will see crossplay appear, where you can choose to turn it on and off. If you want to turn it back on, simply go back to this menu and switch it on again.
Call of Duty: Vanguard also features cross-progression, which saves your progress across all platforms linked to your Activision account. The game will save your achievements, purchases and account data directly to your Activision account. You are free to switch between PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles if you wish without having to worry about your progress being gone. Even so, you will need to purchase multiple copies of the game to play on different platforms.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
