The latest rumors on the internet state the Italian director Stefano Sollima is at the helm of the first Call of Duty movie, one which is reported to be kicking off an entire universe on par, in terms of budget and scope, with Marvel and DC’s.
Talking with Metro, Sollima, who’s known for his work on the upcoming Sicario 2, Gomorra – La Serie and Suburra, didn’t disclose any particular about his involvement in the project, which is set to be penned by Kieran Fitzgerald (Snowden).
What he said is he’d like to involve actors like Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, whom he talked about with very kind words.
“I mean, I like almost everything [he’s been in]. I’m waiting for his Venom. Even in Mad Max, he was great,” Sollima told the paper about Tom Hardy. “He’s tough, but he’s smart and he can have a sense of humor but he can [also] be in such a dramatic role,” was instead his comment regarding Pine.
Likely enough, such high consideration of the two will lead to them being a fundamental part of the first ever Call of Duty movie when it releases in around two or three years.
Hardy is also officially in the Splinter Cell film, which was announced a few years ago but hasn’t been disclosed yet. He’s coming very soon to the theaters in the upcoming Venom by Sony.
