Classic Call of Duty maps Vacant and Shipment return to the franchise in this Modern Warfare update.
We’re now just over two weeks into season one of Modern Warfare, and the next installment of its live service model was released today. With this update came the return of Call of Duty 4 maps Vacant and Shipment. The maps are included in a playlist called ‘Season One Mosh Pit,’ which features the new maps in rotation.
A winter version of 2v2 gunfight map ‘Docks’ has also been added. This will be familiar to players of Modern Warfare Remastered in which Crash was given a winter theme for the holidays.
Game mode ‘cranked’ has also been added to the game. In cranked, kills give the player speed enhancements, but a bomb timer starts that explodes the player if they don’t get a kill within 30 seconds.
New operator Nikto is now in the game but appears to be behind a paywall. For 2400 Call of Duty points ($20), players can buy the allegiance operator along with weapon blueprints, a watch, calling card, and emblem.
Bug Fixes and Gameplay Adjustments
This update contains a significant amount of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments.
Footstep volume has been a constant gripe in the Modern Warfare community, and this update seeks to address that further. The patch notes read:
- Footsteps: reduced audible range of 3rd person footsteps
- Increased occlusion on footsteps
Loud footsteps always punish players for moving around the map, so hopefully, this update will be noticeable.

A couple of bug fixes players will be glad to see are:
- Fixed two bugs that could cause players to accidentally use multiple XP tokens due to a delay between clicking the button and confirmation on our end
- Fixed a bug where players were unable to swap Field Upgrades after selecting Field Upgrade Pro
PC performance has also been worked on in this update, fixing crashes and improving stability.
