Call of Duty Modern Warfare official reveal is scheduled for later today at 7 pm CET/10am PT, so we’re very close to finally learning all the details we need to know about the upcoming annual release of the franchise. Now, anyway, we have some interesting information about when the game’s launching.
As we get closer and closer to the reveal, we’ve been informed thanks to one of those usual leaks that the game might be featuring an October 22, 2019 release date, which would be rather fitting in the window of October/November where CoD is usually shipped.
The date was discovered via an extension of Google Chrome that allowed a YouTube user to check the thumbnail of the incoming announcement video, together with the description “Going Dark” which is being used as a tagline on social networks.
In the thumbnail, one of the three pics popping up as a preview has a release date written in a tiny font just below the main title of the game, which is confirmed to be Call of Duty Modern Warfare in case you’re wondering. A previous rumor we’ve reported also hints at a release on Nintendo Switch.
The other two pics also have a “dark” tone, coming perhaps from missions being played in a night window as you can tell from the equipment of the character being shown in the thumbnail. That’s, sure enough, something we’re going to see in the reveal trailer.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is going to be a soft reboot of the Infinity Ward-led franchise and is reportedly coming on October 22, 2019. A reveal trailer is set to be released later today (CET), so stay tuned for more information as soon as they pop up on Gamepur.
