Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin has confirmed the resolutions for Call of Duty: Ghosts will be different between the PS4 and Xbox One. As rumored to be the case, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be upscaled on the Xbox One — it will not run at 1080p native. According to Rubin:
“Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week’s launch.”
Apparently something has happened between now and earlier this year. Rubin had stated earlier that Call of Duty: Ghosts would be 1080p 60fps on both the Xbox One and PS4. Rubin has not issued clarification, but it sounds like they had to make some concessions to get the best possible experience on the Xbox One.
