Call of Duty fans can look forward to another game in the series being playable on Xbox One as Larry Hryb has announced on Twitter that Call of Duty: Ghosts is now backward compatible. This is yet another backward compatible game that has already released on Xbox One. Call of Duty: Ghosts first released in early November 2013 for last generation consoles and then became a launch title later that month on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Call of Duty: Ghosts was developed by Infinity Ward whose latest release, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, was met with a less than stellar response from fans, putting it mildly. Ghosts follows a special U.S. operations unit (aptly called Ghosts) in an alternate reality where they are waging a war for the country against a terrifying global superpower. This entry in the franchise introduced several new multiplayer game types and was the first to include the option to play as an animal in the form of a dog.
A full list of backward compatible games can be viewed here. The program offers hundreds of Xbox 360 titles playable on Xbox One, with new ones added to the list frequently. Announced at E3, select original Xbox games will also be backward compatible sometime in the future.
