Paradise City can be explored on the go now that Burnout Paradise Remastered is out on Nintendo Switch.

The remastered version of Criterion’s 2008 open-world racer was released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2018. Earlier this month, Burnout Paradise Remastered came to Steam where it is currently on sale for $4.99.

The Switch version of the remaster runs at 60 frames per second and offers pinch-and-pull controls while using the map. Up to eight players can race together online, and local multiplayer is available using a pass the controller (or console) method. Burnout Paradise Remastered on Switch can be purchased on the Nintendo eShop for $49.99.

A new launch trailer for the Switch release came out today showing some of the features you can expect to find in Paradise City.

Burnout Paradise Remastered

Burnout Paradise Remastered includes all eight of the original’s main DLC packs including Big Surf Island, which introduced an entirely new district to Paradise City. In total, the DLC adds nearly 100 cars, 10 tracks, and extra challenges to conquer in Paradise City.

Other DLC packs coming with the remaster include Cops and Robbers, Legendary Cars, Burnout Bikes, Burnout Paradise Toys, Burnout Paradise Party, Burnout Paradise Boost, and Burnout Paradise Cagney. Together, these bring new game modes, vehicle variations, cars, and challenges to the game. Even players who played the original back in 2008 will have something new to experience.

When the original Burnout Paradise released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2008, it received very positive reviews. It was praised for its open world, which was new to the Burnout series at the time. If you’re still holding onto your Xbox 360 version of the game, you should know it’s backward compatible with Xbox One. The 2018 release of the remaster also received positive reviews.

Burnout Paradise Remastered was announced for Nintendo Switch at a Nintendo Direct event in late March.
