When Bubble Bobble 4 Friends launched on the Switch back in March, we said it was a bright and colorful game that, although short, did have some moments of joy. It was a game that was crying out for a bit more of a challenge and definitely for more content.
Thankfully, those wishes are set to be answered as Bubble Bobble 4 Friends will launch on the PlayStation 4 at the end of 2020 with some more content thrown in for good measure.
The PS4 version is said to be greatly expanded, with new stages and game modes to be made available. The new version will also see the return of fan-favorite villain, Baron Von Blubba, after he had been requested by fans of the series.
While PlayStation fans will have to wait for the game, it is nice to know that they will be getting a complete version of the game. Thankfully, adopters on Nintendo’s platform won’t be left out as all the extra content will be coming to the Switch, too, hopefully, free of charge.
To celebrate the PlayStation release of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends Taito and ININ games have announced a fan art competition that is open to fans around the world.
Any budding artists out there can submit their own Bubble Bobble fan art with the winners set to see their artwork and nickname appear in the credits in both the PlayStation and Switch versions of the game. There will be ten prize winners overall who will also score themselves a free version of the game on PS4.
That’s quite a nice prize, but unfortunately, I can’t draw. If it’s something that does interest, you are sure to head here and take a look at the submission rules before getting to work.
Please also make sure to tag us on Twitter @thenerdstash with any artwork you create as we’d love to see what you come up with. Make it snappy though as the competition closes May 31, 2020, 23:59 Japan time.
