Pay inequality in Hollywood has been much discussed in recent years, and Bryce Dallas Howard has continued that conversation. Now concluding her run in the Jurassic World trilogy, she spoke to Insider about how she was paid “so much less” than leading man Chris Pratt.

It was known that Bryce Dallas Howard made $2 million less than her co-star. In 2018, Variety reported that she made $8 million for the second film, Fallen Kingdom, while the Guardians of the Galaxy actor made $10 million. In the Insider interview, she revealed that it was greater than that.

Chris Pratt sided with Dallas Bryce Howard on Jurassic World negotiations

Deals had already gone through, so the pay disparity was set in stone. Bryce Dallas Howard expressed how much she felt for her co-star as he advocated for her. When it came to any tie-in deals for the films, like video games or theme park rides, Chris Pratt was there to negotiate to ensure they were paid the same.

“I love him for doing that,” she said about his support. She said that she was “paid much more” for those other opportunities tied to the latest film, and it was because of him advocating for her.

People have proven that they love their dinosaurs. The Jurassic World trilogy has grossed over $3.9 million. Dominion is the lowest due to the pandemic but has grossed over $970 million, making it one of the top performers of the year, right behind Top Gun: Maverick ($1.3 billion) and above Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($954 million). The first film of the second Jurassic Park trilogy is at the top as it ate up $1.6 billion worldwide. It is unknown what residuals look like for Bryce Dallas Howard or anyone else in part of making the films.

The interview with Bryce Dallas Howard came out today (August 15), ahead of tomorrow’s DVD and Blu-ray release. The film is already available in theaters and on streaming.
