Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne Spears, issued a public apology to her daughter on Instagram. 67-year-old Lynne apologized for any “pain” the singer must have experienced during her ’13 year conservatorship.’

A source revealed to Page Six that Lynne has been trying to reach out to Britney over the phone for a while now. Since the effort didn’t work out, she decided that she had “no choice” but to turn to social media.

Inside Britney Spears Conservatorship Saga

The conservatorship custody was set up for Britney Spears in 2008. After the singer’s divorce from Kevin Federline and she lost custody of her two children, she started becoming mentally unstable.

A conservatorship had to be established for her when it seemed she was getting out of hand and couldn’t take care of herself.

Her father, Jamie Spears was the conservator in charge of Britney. This conservatorship lasted for 13 years. In 2021, Jamie was suspended from being her conservator.

Britney had told the court that she was mistreated by her father and her family during the time of conservatorship. She was restricted to do a lot of things. In her court appearance in June 2021, she stated that she was forced to do things she didn’t consent to, like go on tour, take medications she didn’t want, and go into rehab.

The experiences Britney had during the 13-year-long conservatorship traumatized the singer. The fact that her family, especially her mum, didn’t give her the love she deserved during this period hurt Britney.

A source from Britney explained Lynne is still requesting over $600,000 in legal fees from her daughter, despite trying to prove “love” for her.
