On February 5th, the Boston Festival of Indie Games(BostonFig Fest) for 2022 goes live. The organization holds several kinds of events that celebrate indie game development from all around. The event brings together small developers and fans to create an environment that promotes indie games.
Throughout the five various BostonFig programs, The Fest showcases the chosen tabletop and digital games from hundreds of submissions. There, attendees can play and communicate with the developers of these games. Other than the BostonFig Fest, their other programs support and promote gaming in interested young children.
BostonFig gives young developers tools to learn and grow
The multiple programs: Fest, Talks, Learns, Forward, and GameLoop all offer various tools for developers. These tools all focus on different areas of gaming to bring together industry leaders, teachers, parents, and students. Helping educate all who attend in the world of indie game development.
BostonFig Fest 2022 will follow the same format as last year, switch to an online-only festival. However, the festival will be different than other gaming events. Instead of the standard streaming, the BostonFig Fest will happen on Gather. A virtual 2d world where users can make an avatar and walk around speaking with developers at their digital booths or meeting other community members.
Of course, BostonFig Fest will also be streaming their event. The festival can be watched on their BostonFig Twitch or Youtube channel. Additionally, attendees can also participate in an interactive quest as they explore, play, and meet with others.
The schedule for the BostonFig Fest is as follows:
9 am- 10 am: Welcome Address and Coffee Hour
10 am- 5 pm: Showfloor opens
All-day: Quest and Streaming
