Borderlands 3 is coming up on its one year anniversary and has cooked up a batch fresh content for players to devour in Takedown at the Guardian Breach.

Takedown at the Guardian Breach brings a new free endgame gauntlet made to test players’ skill as well as their cool. This challenge scales to the number of players in a party, even though it was made with four players in mind.

Players will jump on a mission to the planet of Minos Prime to find the source of the mysterious Guardian signal. Of course, this isn’t a walking simulator, so you’ll be attacked by hordes of rogue Guardians on the transformed planet. Think Destiny, but with more fart jokes and one-liners.

The franchise that’s considered to be the godfather of the “loot shooter” will receive new enemies, weapons, and other rewards. Enough talk though, check out the trailer for yourself below.

Players will also encounter low gravity platform sections (first seen in the Pre-Sequel) and environmental puzzles. Not to mention a mini boss and final boss encounter that’ll rain multicolored loot after your victory. This extends to themes weapons, gear and other collectible cosmetics.

Borderlands 3: Feeling Free

While Borderlands 3 has been releasing free content updates, it also has four planned story DLC‘s with the season pass. The content dropped thus far is Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpotand Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock.

The upcoming Bounty of Blood is due out on June 25th pitting Vault Hunters against a gang of beast-riding outlaws on the frontier planet of Gehenn. If I were a betting man, the 4th DLC might come out around the time a “definitive edition” releases like many other AAA titles get the following year.

I play Borderlands solo, so here’s to hoping this new raid can be done without enlisting the help of 12-year-olds. Why? Well, my squad is out doing adult things like work. Ugh.

What are your thoughts on Borderlands 3? What do you hope to see in the next content update? Do you care if a port comes to the Switch?
