Borderlands 3’s upcoming expansion Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock has brand new gameplay footage.

Guns, Love, and Tentacles is the second major expansion for Borderlands 3. While not too much is known about the specifics of the plot, the basic concept is that Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs are to have a wedding, but things, naturally, get a little out of control.

The gameplay for Guns, Love, and Tentacles features more of what we love about Borderlands: shootin’ and lootin’. This footage features Moze as the player, and she and her mech basically blow almost everything up. So, in terms of actual gameplay, there is nothing new here. However, the footage does give us a good look at the aesthetic, quests, and enemies of the DLC.

The expansion takes place on a Lovecraftian-inspired planet called Xylourgos. This planet looks dark and frigid, with ice and snow covering much of the land. Of course, since this is a Lovecraftian expansion, there are areas featuring creepy flesh masses and the like. But, by all means, Guns, Love, and Tentacles look nice, with some particularly good views of giant tentacles and large stars.

We actually get a look at some of the actual missions for the expansion. One features a vault hunter from Borderlands 2, Gaige the Mechromancer, as a wedding planner for Wainwright and Hammerlocks wedding. You follow Gaige to rush over to a lodge because, apparently, you are running late for a meet-up with all your allies. It’s nothing too exciting, but it is nice to talk with Gaige as well as fight by her side.

There are definitely some new enemies, the most interesting of which are strange crab creatures called Krichidon. It seems like it will be a blast to blow them to pieces. However, it doesn’t look like any of the enemies do anything different from other enemies in Borderlands 3. They can spew what looks to be acid, and they can walk up and hit you. But that isn’t anything we haven’t seen before. Guns, Love, and Tentacles offers up some new enemies to fight, but they are only new in the sense that they look new.

Guns, Love, and Tentacles will be March 26 for all supported platforms. If you purchased the Super Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 3 or have bought the season pass, you will be able to play Guns, Love, and Tentacles immediately. Otherwise, you will have to purchase the DLC for a price of $14.99, if the first expansion’s price is anything to go by. There are now more platforms to purchase the title on since Borderlands 3 has just recently become available on Steam.

In other news, the Borderlands movie has landed a director.
