Borderlands 3 is looking into cross-platform cooperative gameplay, as shared by publisher 2K Games in a quick press note.

The game was rumored to be supporting cross-play due to this being mentioned in the Microsoft Store listing.

That mention was quickly removed after it sparked rumors that cross-play was being supported between PC and Xbox One.

When asked about the cross-play mention on the Microsoft Store, the publisher didn’t deny it but said it doesn’t have announcements to make “at this time.”

“Cross-play is something we’re looking at closely, but we don’t have anything to confirm or announce at this time,” said the publisher.

As you can see, the statement doesn’t debunk the possibility of cross-play support for the upcoming Borderlands 3.

Sure enough, since the game is an Epic Games Store exclusive for six months, it’ll be interesting to see how it works with Xbox One.

Microsoft has been somewhat supportive of the feature thus far, so it’ll likely be something that developer Gearbox will have to figure out in case.
