Amara Full Build (Siren)
Amara Leveling Build Guide
Levels 2-7
At level two, you’ve unlocked three action skills to choose from: Phasegrasp is for locking down an enemy, Phasecast sends a straight blast, and Phaseslam creates a shockwave that damages surrounding enemies. Select Phaseslam for the highest damage and AoE. If necessary, change your action skill to Phasegrasp to deal with specific types of enemies, such as Varkids or Rakks.
Our Borderlands 3 Amara Leveling Build Guide features a complete step-by-step leveling guide that focuses on survival and close-quarters combat while keeping the early progression on this build exciting. Amara is a Siren who specializes in tanking hits, dealing elemental damage over time, and spreading chaos. Use Amara’s powers to beat down enemies with her brawling skills, and control the flow of battle by locking enemies in place or turning them against one another. Amara has 20 action skills to choose from. You can also apply powerful augments and specific elements to these action skills to create powerful combinations.

At the end of this build, your melee attacks should be strong enough to plow through enemies while effortlessly staying alive. Many of the skills provided grant double movement speed, vast amounts of health regeneration, no delay on shield recharge, tons of damage reduction, and a second life! Burst down groups of enemies with Phaseslam while spreading damage everywhere with bullet ricochet and the ability to burn, shock, freeze, corrode, or irradiate multiple enemies at once.
The following is the full build you will end up with, but it isn’t how you should level it up initially. We’ve got a step-by-step guide below that features what skills you should have as you level your character.
After level three, go to the Brawl (green) tree and spend three points into Personal Space for up to 36% damage when close to an enemy. This skill deals well with melee enemies, such as beasts and psychos. Next up, spend two points on Clarity for constant health regeneration. Since you’ll mainly be on the front lines, your shields will deplete quite often. Keeping your health up will play a big factor.
Levels 8-12
On the second tier, spend three points into Samsara for gun damage and health regeneration after using Phaseslam. These bonuses increase the more enemies you damage and lasts for 20 seconds. Next, spend two points on Helping Hand(s) for high damage reduction for 15 seconds after using Phaseslam. You’ve also unlocked a new corrosive element, but we advise keeping shock until you reach an area that’s populated with armored enemies (such as Promethea).
Levels 13-17
On the third tier, spend a point into Find Your Center for double melee damage. After using Phaseslam, your melee range increases, helping you close the distance. Next, spend three points on Mindfulness for up to -575% shield recharge delay and 100% movement speed. With this bonus speed, your shields will constantly restore as you close the distance even more easily.
Next, spend a point on Helping Hand(s) for further damage resistance. Equip the new action skill, Fracture. This has a shorter cooldown than Phaseslam, and it damages enemies in a linear path. Also, apply the augment Revelation for the ability to create novas for every enemy you damage with Fracture. This helps a lot with fighting groups of enemies.
Levels 18-22
Back on the first tier, spend five points on Root to Rise. This gives you a 40% health increase, allowing you to take more damage. You’ve unlocked the action skill Downfall, but it has too long of a cooldown, so keep Fracture equipped.
Levels 23-28
On the fifth tier, spend a point on Guardian Angel. If you manage to get downed, you immediately receive a Second Wind with all of your health and shields. On top of that, you release an elemental nova upon getting up, knocking all enemies back. Afterward, spend a point on Do Unto Others. This gives you the ability to automatically throw an orb at an enemy that’s damaging you. Spend three points into Jab Cross for a 45% damage increase to your action skill after you melee an enemy. Lastly, acquire Blitz for 100% extra melee damage.
Levels 29-44
Go over to the Fist of the Elements (orange) tree. Spend five points on Anima for 40% extra elemental damage and double status effect duration. Go ahead and apply the new element Soulfire to give you Incendiary Damage. On the second tier, spend a point into Illuminated Fist for 75% increased melee damage, which converts it into your action skill element. Spend five points on Wildfire for a chance to spread elemental status effects to other enemies. On the first tier, spend four points on Infusion to convert a portion of your weapon’s damage into fire, allowing you to ignite enemies regardless of the weapon you use.
Levels 45-50
On the fourth tier, spend three points on Indiscriminate so your bullets can ricochet off of enemies to other nearby enemies. Spend a point on Deep Well for a 20% magazine-size increase to elemental weapons. Next, spend a point on Dread for increased gun damage and automatic reload when killing an enemy that is phasegrasped. Lastly, apply the new action skill Fist Over Matter. This locks an enemy in place while consecutively slamming with giant fists. Attach the augment Allure to pull in all nearby enemies into one spot, lining up some easy kills.
Levels 50-72
Here’s where it gets fun. With the level cap raised to 72, players can dump absurd amounts of points to bump up existing skills and round out others. Here’s what you should be looking at with this full build.
