Bohemia Interactive may not be a familiar name, but their work is likely familiar. They once developed military simulations for armies, which later turned into the Arma series. This set of games spawned a mod known as DayZ, which eventually became a standalone title. While it was hugely popular, the developers maintained steam. Their most recent project was Vigor, a title released on Xbox One.
Vigor, developed by Bohemia Interactive, is classified as a battle royale shooter. While there is a building mechanic in the game, it isn’t the same type that Fortnite is famous for. Your character doesn’t possess powers like in Apex Legends. Developers wanted something a little more “realistic” when it came to survival.
Bohemia Interactive set its title in an alternate version of 1991. Europe has been decimated by nuclear war. The only safe haven is the country of Norway, which is under a constant post-nuclear winter. You have no name, and you have only one objective: survive. How will you fare against others as you attempt to scavenge resources and create a makeshift shelter?
Bohemia Interactive’s Cross-Play and Closed Beta
Those who have an Xbox One can play the game with free access. If you want to play on Nintendo Switch, Bohemia Interactive has a closed beta which you can sign up for. Don’t feel bad if you only have one or the other. Developers have already made sure to let fans know cross-play is possible. While it will still be in beta for the Switch, Bohemia Interactive will be looking for more additions to matchmaking. There will likely be more modes in the future.
