The creator behind Blue Exorcist, Kazue Kato, is working on a new horror manga that is set to release later this year.
The Twitter page Manga Mogura announced that the Blue Exorcist creator is working on an adaptation of Futumi Ohno’s Eizen karukaya Kaitan. The adaptation is set to run for six chapters, and it will delve into a much darker world than Kato’s previous work.
According to ComicBook, “The novel, Eizen Karukaya Kaitan, follows a young woman named Shoko who inherits a small retail store from her aunt but discovers that the shop is plagued with spirits and must now attempt to save her own life while getting to the bottom of the supernatural threats that have been plaguing the location.” Supposedly, Eizen Karukaya Kaitan is very reminiscent of the popular horror work The Grudge.
Futumi Ohno is no stranger to having her work adapted into manga and anime. Her works, Ghost Hunt, Shiki, and The Twelve Kingdoms, are all popular series, and Eizen karukaya Kaitan is joining the ranks this Fall.
“Blue Exorcist” creator Kazue Kato will start a manga adaption of the horror novel “Eizen karukaya Kaitan” by Fuyumi Ohno in upcoming Jump SQ issue 10/2021 out Sep 3, 2021
